Who is NATE and Why is He Important?Posted on
You don’t know NATE? Well, let us tell you a little bit about him. NATE, also known as the North American Technician Excellence, Inc., is the leading certification program for technicians in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration industry. This program was founded in 1997 and continues to be the nation’s largest non-profit certification organization for HVAC and refrigeration technicians. To be honest, he’s kind of a big deal.
It’s Good to Have NATE on Our Side
According to NATE, “NATE certification tests represent real world working knowledge of HVACR systems. Developed by a committee of industry experts nationwide, our NATE exams represent HVACR topics pertinent to contractors, educators, manufacturers and utilities alike. All of the NATE tests are rigorous, multiple-choice, knowledge-based tests and validate a technician’s knowledge.”
Why does this make NATE so important you might ask? It’s because the NATE certification program test is supported by the entire industry, including us here at Roscoe Brown. We have technicians at all four of our locations that are licensed and have been trained well because NATE has provided them with the most extensive and up-to-date knowledge in the industry through one of the strictest tests in the HVAC industry. As a matter of fact, we have eight NATE certified technicians in Murfreesboro, two in McMinnville, one in Nashville, and five in Tullahoma.
Our Certifications Don’t Stop There
Along with NATE, Roscoe Brown also has technicians with other certifications such as the BPI Building Analyst Certification and Envelope Certification. The Building Analyst Certification ensures that our technicians go beyond a traditional energy audit to perform comprehensive, whole-home assessments, identify problems at the root cause and prescribe and prioritize solutions based on building science. The Envelope Certifications allows our technicians to quantify performance and prescribe improvements to help tighten the building envelope (shell), stop uncontrolled air leakage and optimize comfort, durability and HV/AC performance.
If you’d like more information about our certifications or technicians, please contact us at Roscoe Brown, providing exceptional HVAC services for Nashville, Murfreesboro and Tullahoma homeowners for more than 70 years. We also offer plumbing, drain, insulation, and geothermal services. We’re glad you could finally be introduced to our friend NATE!
